quite good

the piano is quite emotional, you know it's gearing up for a sad sounding song. Your singing voice is not very strong, good pitch, good range, kinda choirboy esque, but it doesn't have a lot of personality, in my opinion. The song's very dramatic, a little cliched, like a musical, not my thing really, but I had to comment because of the good sound quality and because of your film the composer.
The tin whistle sound is nice, but it's all very wishy-washy for my tastes.
I'm sure there's a market for this kind of music, titanic soundtrack or something like that, but I find the more I listen to the more I want to punch you in the face:) And i'm not an agressive person at all. The whisper at the end is just awful in my opinion, so cheesy I could put it on toast and tuck in right now.

Jazza responds:

sure think what u will, but i didnt record it to impress anyone. i recorded it because it's the first time i've felt the reality of a broken heart in this way. Call it cheese, but fact is love is the most powerful thing in the world, therefore anything expressed about it can easily be seen as overdone.

thanks though, you had some good points.

rubbish

something you whipted up in 40 minutes eh.
It's really bad, Beethoven would be rolling in his grave if he could here this midi awful piece of poop.

studio-nightbird responds:

He would be...but its not his version of the song. I changed it to make it more different so then people wont go...eh herd it before.
but yea 40 minutes. since i only have FL studios trial

ok

it has nice feel to it, kinda heavy, kinda good riff, but generally the production sucks and the drums are way too high in the mix compared to the guitars, needs a lot of work and shouldn't be #1 as it's just a work in progress and also a short loop.

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Wow, it's almost as though it hurt your feelings. There is no "production" on this track at all. So your review is close on all fronts, except the whining part. Thanks for the constructive review, though. You should learn to be a little less of a dick though, when leaving reviews. It might piss some people off that give a shit.
Thanks again, man.\m/

Good, but a little busy

I felt the track was a little disjointed, it's mainly because of the unsettled rhythm of the beats. I like glitch, but i think with ambient stuff it's nicer to have a more chilled groove to settle into to. That said I like the simple but effective melody and your obvious talent for fx and production.

meh...

hmm, nice build up to this trk, but the strings sound like some ff game. pretty boring really, it does nothing. sounds like zelda from the old snes days, not really worth a good vote cos it aint original, i give this 3 out of 5, just because of the production, i wish i never have to vote on a trk like this again

Slayer-of-trolls responds:

Meh...

Nice

Bit heavy for what I would consider ambient, but nice amount of randomness to the track.
I see this has been 0 voted already, which it doesn't deserve. It gets my 5. It's original and interesting to listen to. Worth a download.
Good stuff man, but not ambient.

dj-padman1 responds:

I'm flattered you enjoy it. The genre is a bit contentious, you have a good point, but I think it's more ambient than anything else.
Until they have an electronica/glitch category, I'm sticking songs like this here :)
I might have put it on miscellaneous, but this song didn't have enough samples of me going to the toilet to be competitive there. There was only 3.
Keep cool Amoeboy!

cheat....

good trk..., this song was under 4 when i first listened to it, now one day later it's up at 4.14, something goin on here methinks. Multiple account monkey are we:) It's good enough to deserve the ambient top-spot, but not good enough for you to vote for yourself all the time.

Gillenium responds:

Why does everybody think I'm cheating... My scores fluctuate all the time. I think its mostly because people give either 0's or 5's. I get plenty of both. Thanks for the review though.

samples

yeah, nice work using loads of samples, must have taken u ages.I hate when people claim that this sort of shit is their own, they always get found out in the end.

why?

first off the guitar sounds awful! there's nice distortion then there's just plain fuzz. You need to find a good balance so you can actually appreciate the sound before attempting tracks like this.
Jimi was first and way better, why bother?

Quoteman responds:

Let's get some things across, first of all like I said in the previous review, this is an OLD RECORDING; I didn't know what I was doing with the new pedals/amp. (I just put my tubescreamer/CE-20 on full and cranked the reverb on my transistor amp up, the "below average" soundcard didn't help at all either) Another thing, Jimi was one of the greatest guitar players ever to step on this earth; I wasn't competing with him, I was merely inspired by him. "Hey Joe (improved)" is my real first step towards decent music. Maybe you'll see some stuff with better distortion in the future.
P.S. As much as I hate to say it, I like your music -_-.

shakira pop

Samples galore in this track. Doesn't mean it's bad to listen to, but I don't really see the point. Good production, I would lose the thunder clap sound, very cheesy tune, very cheesy. Get a female vocalist to spout some shit about how men are inferior and you might get this into the top 10.
Still doesn't make it good.
